Earrings

Among a gazillion memorial pennies, I found these two gold and gold post earrings, one with a nice diamond in the middle. No rings for the day but I cannot complain. It was a great day with gold on the itinerary! There are more goodies I'm sure. I'll be back to the same place again.
This 10k gold earring was in my local school yard just a few inches down in sand. It appeared to be new and recently lost. The place is under a stand of large oak trees where students gather every day and is always good for a constant flow of modern coins. Occasionally, though, I find bits and pieces of jewelry, too.
Here is a nice 14 karat gold earring I found in a school playground at about three inches. Sounded and ID'd as foil. Glad I did not pass it off as such. I know I could have easily done that very thing.
One of the very nice things about being a teacher, is having time off over the holidays. School is closed for two weeks and it gives me time to go to Miami and spend some time with my eldest son. When I am there at his house, we go TH'ing together on the local beaches.
The extra large sterling silver earring to the left was found in about three feet of water just a few yards out from the beach at Bill Baigley's State Park on Key Biscayne, Florida. The park is at the east tip of the Key and is called Cape Florida. There were many bottle caps there and I thought this was just another one of them until I saw the earring in the scoop. When I am using the CZ20 in the water I search in "0" disc and scoop everything. Bill Baigley State Park at Cape Florida is one of the few state parks that allows metal detecting.
This is a heavy gold earring I found at a little known place on the east coast of Florida called, Flagler Beach. It was about six inches down in the sand under a fishing pier.
This is a tiny gold and gold post earring with enameled coloring. When I found it under six feet of water at a North Central Florida spring, I thought it was trash at first until I took a better look.
North Central Florida's springs have been very good to me. This shell-like gold and white gold post earring was found in about four feet of water at Hart Springs in Rural Gilchrist County, Florida.

This medium sized gold and gold post earring was found in a few feet of water at Poe Springs just out of High Springs, Florida.
This medium sized gold and gold post earring resembles a piece of twine rolled and tied into a knot. Found it in a Chiefland, Florida public park.

Though this is an inexpensive gold plated earring, it was fun to find and got the `Ol ticker going. It was another east coast beach find, in the surf.
This one I never could figure out. The clasp was still on this heavy gold and gold post earring when I found it at Haulover Beach in Miami Florida. I searched in vain but could not find the other one. The only thing I could figure was it was taken off with the other and put on a beach towel or blanket and forgotten. You know the rest. Some day I hope to come up with a matching set of earrings.
